Dr. Miami Beach
Dr. Tarik M. Husain was first a biomedical engineer working for Siemens Power Corporation. This was followed by medical school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He then did his orthopaedic surgery residency in Hawaii. This was followed by four years of active duty service as an Army Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine surgeon during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan including 3 years spent in Germany. He then followed this up with a plastic surgery residency at the University of Miami and further subspecialized at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
He started private practice in Miami and has since developed a unique practice which allows him to be both a plastic surgeon and an orthopaedic surgeon. He trains surgical residents, and given his background, teaches how to switch gears with hands to go from strong such as during fracture surgery or liposuction to soft such as during a blepharoplasty or facelift. He is a professor of plastic surgery with Larkin Hospital and volunteer faculty with the University of Miami. He gives lectures both within the United States as well as in several different countries on his innovative surgical techniques.
He is board certified in plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery. He has additional subspecialty certifications in sports medicine and hand surgery. He serves as an expert witness for complicated cases. He has worked with several different companies to help improve surgical outcomes and currently serves as key opinion leader for Renuvion/J-Plasma. His office is in Miami Beach, and the majority of his surgeries are done just upstairs from his office at the Miami Beach Surgery Center.
